Negina Azimi, May 28th- June 1st, 2024
Negina (she/her) has been working as a street artist with the Artlords in Afghanistan, and since arriving in Vermont, has continued her work as an artist. Negina’s work will focus on capturing her life experiences, particularly the moment when she left her home country.
Voices of Community (VoC) presents top-level performance artists from around the country whose work embodies a commitment to social change. We connect visiting artists with local partner organizations to create programs that inspire dialogue around diverse issues within our community in Southern Vermont. These programs address issues such as housing security, racial equity, gender identity, disability, and more.
Sandglass VoC Seed Residencies Summer 2024
Our 2024 VoC program takes on a new experimental model for supporting artists committed to the intersection of live performance and social justice. Sandglass is opening our theater space for 5 independant, exploratory week-long residencies throughout the summer to support artists in the seed stages of new projects. This is a paid opportunity to better support the first phase of a new creation. This program will give priority to artists who live in or have connections with our local community.
