This summer has been active for Sandglass in many ways:
Sandglass has begun preparing for its Strategic Plan. The board and staff have set in motion the first steps and are gearing up to invigorate a new vision for the organizational structure of Sandglass Theater. Stay tuned for how to get involved.
Sandglass company members has been teaching a variety of workshops: Ines Zeller Bass piloted her new workshop of Telling Tales with Crankies at the KO Festival in Amherst, MA; Jana taught her Summer Puppets and Painting Camp for youth to a higher demand than ever; Eric and Shoshana developed a new workshop in Creating Puppet Theater from Social Testimony: How to Give Voice to a Story of Personal Injustice. And Eric and Ines were joined by daughters, Shoshana and Jana in teaching the Summer Training Intensive.
During the Summer Intensive company members Jana Zeller and Kalob Martinez teamed up to present Puppet Crimes, An Evening of Hand Puppets to sold out audiences. Eric Bass performed one of his final Autumn Portraits shows at Bread and Puppet, which marked a special return after 20 years. Next week Eric and Ines head to Croatia to for Autumn Portraits. The final shows of this signature solo work by Eric Bass will be in Taiwan in December and in Putney on Thanksgiving weekend during the Crafts Tour.
|Babylon begins touring with performances at Raritan Valley Community College in North Branch, New Jersey and at Landmark College in Putney, Vermont this fall.
