Sandglass Theater’s Board of Directors, Staff, and Artists, recently hosted an event to say thank you to and celebrate the support of our donors and friends, and offer a view behind the scenes of our little theater.
Several dozen local and regional funders, friends, and supporters gathered on a beautiful Sunday evening and communed over art, theater, and the history and future of Sandglass Theater while feasting on a staggering array of blueberry-themed desserts and champagne.
The event began with a speech from Eric and Ines, founders and Co-Artistic Directors of Sandglass Theater. They touched upon the history of the company, the move into the historic barn that has been home to Sandglass for almost 20 years now, and our commitment to our local and national communities.
The speech was followed by a very special presentation of “Two Crankies and a Flea Circus,” three short pieces by Eric, Ines, and their daughter Shoshana. Eric and Ines performed the crankie piece “Au Bois, Marguerite,” originally seen at Puppets in Paradise in September 2013. They also performed the Sandglass premiere of their newest crankie, “Three Little Fishies.” Shoshana, carrying on one of Ines’ most beloved pieces, performed “Fritzi’s Flea Circus” to roaring laughter!
The evening rounded out with old friends and new gathering over dessert and champagne.
